TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines—Recognizing that health goes beyond physical well-being, DigiPlus Foundation has expanded its KalusuganPLUS Medical Mission by introducing mental wellness consultations as a core component of its community healthcare program, marking a significant step toward more holistic and accessible healthcare services for underserved communities.
Traditionally focused on delivering essential medical services to vulnerable and underserved populations, this year’s KalusuganPLUS medical mission introduced its first-ever mental health consultations in Tuguegarao City, reflecting the foundation’s growing commitment to addressing the evolving healthcare needs of Filipino communities.
The two-day medical mission benefited more than 1,000 residents of Barangay Ugac Sur, providing access to comprehensive healthcare services that included medical consultations, laboratory examinations, medicines, and mental wellness assessments and counseling.
As conversations around mental health continue to gain importance nationwide, DigiPlus Foundation recognizes the need to make mental wellness support more accessible, particularly in communities where such services remain limited or unavailable. By integrating mental health consultations into its healthcare outreach initiatives, the foundation seeks to promote a more inclusive approach to wellness, one that acknowledges the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and psychological health.
The introduction of mental wellness services represents an important milestone for KalusuganPLUS, reinforcing DigiPlus Foundation’s belief that healthier communities are built when individuals are equipped with the support and resources needed to care for both their bodies and minds.
