DigiPlus Foundation expands community healthcare efforts with first mental wellness consultations in Tuguegarao City

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines—Recognizing that health goes beyond physical well-being, DigiPlus Foundation has expanded its KalusuganPLUS Medical Mission by introducing mental wellness consultations as a core component of its community healthcare program, marking a significant step toward more holistic and accessible healthcare services for underserved communities.

Traditionally focused on delivering essential medical services to vulnerable and underserved populations, this year’s KalusuganPLUS medical mission introduced its first-ever mental health consultations in Tuguegarao City, reflecting the foundation’s growing commitment to addressing the evolving healthcare needs of Filipino communities.

The two-day medical mission benefited more than 1,000 residents of Barangay Ugac Sur, providing access to comprehensive healthcare services that included medical consultations, laboratory examinations, medicines, and mental wellness assessments and counseling.

As conversations around mental health continue to gain importance nationwide, DigiPlus Foundation recognizes the need to make mental wellness support more accessible, particularly in communities where such services remain limited or unavailable. By integrating mental health consultations into its healthcare outreach initiatives, the foundation seeks to promote a more inclusive approach to wellness, one that acknowledges the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and psychological health.

The introduction of mental wellness services represents an important milestone for KalusuganPLUS, reinforcing DigiPlus Foundation’s belief that healthier communities are built when individuals are equipped with the support and resources needed to care for both their bodies and minds.

"Healthcare should address the whole person, not just physical ailments. Through the inclusion of mental wellness consultations in our medical missions, we hope to help break barriers to access and encourage more Filipinos to prioritize their overall well-being," said Paul Tamayo, Program Manager for Health and Resilience of DigiPlus Foundation.

Beyond delivering immediate healthcare assistance, KalusuganPLUS is designed to strengthen community resilience by improving access to preventive care, health education, and wellness services that contribute to long-term quality of life.

As the foundation continues to expand its healthcare initiatives across the country, the inclusion of mental wellness services signals a broader vision for community development, one that places equal importance on physical health, mental well-being, and the overall resilience of Filipino families.

Through KalusuganPLUS, DigiPlus Foundation remains committed to helping build healthier, stronger, and more empowered communities as it continues to multiply the good.

Weaving love and hope: BingoPlus, DigiPlus Foundation honor mothers in the weaver community through a one-day community outreach activity

It is never too late to celebrate Mother’s Day as BingoPlus and DigiPlus Foundation turned appreciation into action by bringing smiles, support, and well-deserved care to the hardworking mothers behind Sisidlan’s weaving community in Rizal.

Nenita Francisco, a former inmate and solo mother of six, is weaving a brighter future for her family through handcrafted bayong bags. Through Sisidlan, her journey has become a testament to resilience, second chances, and the transformative power of dignified livelihood. Discover her inspiring story and how the support of DigiPlus Foundation and BingoPlus is helping uplift her life and create new opportunities for her family: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BBpxWbF1L/

What made this celebration even more meaningful was that the initiative was powered by the generosity of BingoPlus app users through a fundraising campaign, proving that small acts of giving can create a big impact when people come together.

As the chosen beneficiary, Sisidlan continues to inspire through its handcrafted woven bags and livelihood programs that empower local artisans, especially mothers who were former inmates and who have found renewed opportunities through weaving. Through every bayong woven, stories of resilience, creativity, and hope come to life.

The beneficiary was selected for its strong commitment to inclusive livelihood development and its proven impact in transforming lives through sustainable craftsmanship. By supporting Sisidlan, the initiative aims to uplift a community that not only preserves traditional weaving but also provides second chances and dignified work for women rebuilding their lives.

Demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism, team members from BingoPlus Stores in Angono, Binangonan, and Cainta joined the DigiPlus Foundation team in preparing grocery packages for mothers from the Sisidlan weaving community, helping deliver care beyond the celebration.

To honor these remarkable mothers, the team organized a day filled with gratitude and care. The beneficiaries enjoyed a hearty lunch shared with the community and received food and sanitary care packages, along with gift vouchers that can be used for medicines and fuel. These simple yet meaningful gestures aimed to support their daily needs while recognizing their invaluable contributions to their families and communities.

A total of 15 solo mothers and their loved ones gathered for a day of recognition, connection, and joy. Over a shared meal, they enjoyed meaningful conversations, moments of laughter, and a well-deserved celebration of their strength, resilience, and unwavering love for their families

This initiative reflects how BingoPlus and DigiPlus Foundation continue to multiply the good by transforming everyday generosity into meaningful action. Through the collective support of BingoPlus users, lives are uplifted, communities are strengthened, and stories of resilience are given the opportunity to thrive. Together, we are proving that compassion, when shared, can create lasting impact.

DigiPlus Foundation, GameZone Strengthened Manila’s Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response Capabilities

MANILA, Philippines—In a significant step toward enhancing community resilience, DigiPlus Foundation, in partnership with GameZone, formally turned over disaster preparedness equipment to the City Government of Manila on April 7, 2026, at P. Guevara Elementary School.

The initiative underscores a shared commitment to safeguarding vulnerable communities and strengthening not only Manila’s capacity to respond swiftly and effectively during emergencies but also its ability to extend support beyond city borders.

Reinforcing community readiness

The donated equipment includes essential tools such as life vests, rescue ropes, portable megaphones, rechargeable flashlights, searchlights, rain gear, rescue boats, and emergency floaters, designed to strengthen disaster response operations and improve on-the-ground efficiency during floods and typhoons.

“During past typhoons that affected Manila, we experienced firsthand the strain on our resources, such as limited equipment, delayed response times, and the difficulty of immediately reaching all affected families. There were even circumstances when we requested to borrow equipment from nearby cities. These realities made it clear how critical preparedness is, especially in a densely populated city like ours. This donation from DigiPlus Foundation and GameZone directly addresses those challenges. With better equipment on hand, we can respond faster, coordinate more effectively, and not only serve Manileños better but also extend help to neighboring cities when needed. It’s not just additional equipment; it is a meaningful boost to our capacity to serve in times of crisis,” Mayor Isko Moreno emphasized.

Beyond serving Manila’s immediate needs, the additional equipment also addresses a long-standing reality of neighboring cities often turning to Manila for assistance during large-scale emergencies. With increased resources now available, the city government of Manila is better positioned to lend critical equipment to nearby cities when needed, extending the reach of disaster response efforts across communities.

This reflects DigiPlus Foundation’s broader vision of multiplying the good, ensuring that every investment creates ripple effects that benefit not just one city, but an entire region.

A shared mission for safer communities

The Chief Operating Officer of DigiPlus Foundation, Ms. Celeste Jovenir, emphasized that the donation is part of the foundation’s broader mission under its BayanihanPLUS: Community Resilience Pillar. “Our goal is not only to provide assistance but also to enable preparedness. By equipping local government units, we ensure that help reaches communities faster and more efficiently when it matters most," Ms. Jovenir shared.

Meanwhile, GameZone echoed this commitment to social responsibility, emphasizing that real impact comes from empowering communities. Their joint initiative with DigiPlus Foundation reflects a shared dedication to being active partners in nation-building and disaster resilience.

Building a more resilient Manila

This donation represents more than just equipment, but it symbolizes a proactive approach to disaster management through collaboration, preparedness, and shared responsibility.

As climate-related risks continue to intensify, partners like DigiPlus Foundation, GameZone, and the local government of Manila play an important role in ensuring that communities are not only ready to respond but are also empowered to support one another, recover faster, and rebuild stronger together.

Filipino Student Innovators Rise to Global Stage Through TechQuest National Robotics Challenge

MANILA, Philippines – Inside a competition arena filled with moving robots, flashing sensors, and cheering students, a bigger story unfolded in Makati City: the rise of a new generation of Filipino innovators determined to prove that world-class talent can thrive anywhere in the Philippines.

32 schools across regions gathered for TechQuest National Robotics Challenge for Academia, a nationwide robotics competition spearheaded by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and DigiPlus Foundation, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive Corp. For two days, students from different backgrounds and provinces competed not only for championship titles, but for the opportunity to represent the Philippines on the international stage.

But beyond the robotics arena, TechQuest became a powerful reflection on how Filipino youth are transforming curiosity into innovation and ambition into opportunity.

For many participants, it was their first time traveling outside their hometown to compete nationally. Some came from public schools with limited access  to advanced technology, carrying with them months of preparation, self-study, and determination. Armed with robotic kits, programming skills, and teamwork, they engineered autonomous robots capable of completing complex tasks under time pressure.

The competition tested not only technical capability, but also creativity, adaptability, leadership, and resilience - qualities that are increasingly essential in a technology-driven world.

“TechQuest is more than a competition, it is a launchpad for Filipino youth to realize that their ideas matter and that they can compete with the best in the world,” said Celeste Jovenir, Chief Operating Officer of DigiPlus Foundation. “When we invest in young innovators, we are also investing in the future of the Philippines. These students represent the kind of talent, creativity, and determination that can drive our nation towards a more advanced tech-driven world,” she added.

Mounted under DigiPlus Foundation’s FutureSmart program, TechQuest serves as a part of the foundation’s long-term commitment to empowering Filipino learners through technology education, robotics, and future-ready skills development. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between education and industry while helping the students discover pathways toward careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The competition also highlighted the importance of collaboration in building a stronger innovation ecosystem for the country. TechQuest was made possible through the collective efforts of DICT- SPARK (Strengthening the Philippine Workplace through Adaptive and Responsive Digital Knowledge), DICT- ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), the Robotics and Programming Guild of the Philippines, and ZMRobo, whose support helped bring advanced robotics education closer to Filipino students nationwide.

For the DICT, TechQuest is essential in strengthening the country’s digital competitiveness and nurturing globally capable talent.

“Empowering the next generation of innovators is critical to building a digitally competitive Philippines,” said Attorney Leandro Angelo Aguirre, Undersecretary for Strategic Initiatives and Industry and Competency Development of DICT. “Through initiatives like TechQuest are not only developing technical skills, but also fostering innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving among young Filipinos. These are the skills that will help shape the future of our nation,” he added.

Emerging as overall champion was the University of the Cordilleras from Cordillera Administrative Region, followed by the Philippine Science High School- SOCCSKSARGEN Region Campus as first runner-up, while Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School from Region VI secured second runner-up.

Beyond the championship titles, several schools also received special recognition for excellence and impact. Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School earned the “Multiply the Good Award” for its inspiring video entry highlighting how robotics transformed the students’ lives and aspirations.

Other awardees included:

This year’s winners will now carry the Philippine flag to international robotics competitions in China, Malaysia, and Vietnam, where they will compete against top student innovators from across Asia. Their journey reflects a growing reality: Filipino students are no longer simply catching up in robotics and technology innovation- they are beginning to stand out.

As DigiPlus Foundation continues to expand its FutureSmart program nationwide, TechQuest demonstrated what becomes possible when young Filipinos are given access to technology, mentorship, and opportunities to innovate for impact.

In every root assembled, every line of code written, and every challenge completed inside the arena, these  students carried something far greater than the hope of winning.

They carried the future of Filipino innovation.

DigiPlus Foundation champions a new wave of community mental health awareness in Parañaque City

After successful runs in Cebu City and General Santos City, our mental health initiative has officially reached the metro.

Dubbed “Amuma: Community Conversations on Mental Health,” the program places mental health at the forefront of community care and local governance. In partnership with Parañaque City, the initiative was successfully launched last March 27 at the city’s municipal hall, marking its first large-scale effort to expand access, awareness, and capacity for mental health support at the grassroots level.

More than 100 participants, including teachers, students, government officials, and parents, took part in the event. The session provided practical mental health education, helped break stigma, and fostered safe spaces that encourage communities to play an active role in supporting mental well-being.

Marc Jerard Juane, a medical doctor participant from the training, shared how the training strengthened their confidence in responding to patients beyond clinical care, emphasizing the importance of listening and early support at the community level. “This gives us practical tools to better understand and assist individuals who may be silently struggling,” the participant noted.

For DigiPlus Foundation, the initiative reflects a deeper commitment to accessible and community-driven care. “Amuma is about meeting people where they are and equipping communities with the knowledge and skills to support one another,” said Paul Tamayo, Program Manager of DigiPlus Foundation. “We want to help create environments where conversations on mental health are normalized and support is within reach.”

Local leadership also underscored the importance of the initiative in strengthening the city’s health systems. Vice Mayor Benjo Bernabe of Parañaque City highlighted that empowering frontline workers and community members is key to building a more responsive and compassionate city, where mental health is recognized as a shared responsibility.

At DigiPlus Foundation, we believe that mental health care should be accessible, inclusive, and community driven. This caravan represents a meaningful step toward building stronger and more resilient communities where no one is left behind.

With each milestone, we move closer to a future where mental health is understood, prioritized, and supported by all.

DigiPlus Foundation Joins Forces with DICT for Nationwide 'TechQuest' Robotics Initiative, Enables Future-Ready Education for Filipino Youth

DigiPlus Foundation, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive Corp., is solidifying its commitment to digital inclusion through its tech-education initiative FutureSmart, following a strategic partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to support TechQuest: Regional Robotics Challenge for Academia—a groundbreaking nationwide program designed to strengthen robotics education and empower innovative Filipinos.

Since its launch in 2025, the TechQuest: Regional Robotics Challenge for Academia has successfully upskilled 150 public school teachers and inspired 300 students, providing them with the tools to transition from passive consumers of technology to activate innovators. At present, the DICT-led program has expanded to 15 key regions across the archipelago, reaching schools from Ilocos Norte and Baguio in Luzon, to Cebu and Iloilo in the Visayas, and Davao and Zamboanga in Mindanao.

Through its FutureSmart initiative—a flagship DigiPlus Foundation program centered on technology education—the Foundation’s strategic collaboration with the DICT and active participation in TechQuest stemmed from a shared vision to bridge the digital divide. The partnership underscores a shared mission to equip public school educators and students with the advanced robotics and coding skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly tech-driven society. It represents a steadfast dedication to cultivating a generation of innovators where digital opportunity is accessible to all, regardless of their location.

Anchored on DigiPlus Foundation’s FutureSmart: Robotics and Coding for Kids framework, the strategic collaboration between the two institutions extends far beyond one-time workshops. By combining the Foundation’s robotics kits with modular training and long-term mentoring, this approach brings high-level technology education to underserved regions and ensures that innovation takes permanent root in the classroom, empowering students long after the initial sessions have ended.

“At DigiPlus Foundation, we see it as our responsibility to inspire and prepare the next generation for the digital economy,” said Angela Camins-Wieneke, Executive Director of DigiPlus Foundation. She added, “Robotics offers a meaningful way for Filipino students to develop future-ready skills such as logical thinking, collaboration, and innovation to uplift communities, which is why DigiPlus Foundation invests in technology education that prepares learners for real-world challenges.”

Empowered Future

The true impact of the FutureSmart program is best measured by the transformation of its beneficiaries. For Alberto S. Elcullada, Jr., Teacher III from Surigao del Norte, the program served as a career-defining turning point, bridging the gap between traditional instruction and the future of robotics.

“I used to teach technology purely from textbooks. Now, thanks to the kits from DigiPlus Foundation and the training from DICT, my students are actually building and coding,” shared Elcullada, adding, “Seeing their faces light up when their robot moves for the first time, that’s when you know the future of tech in the Philippines is rising.”

The enthusiasm is mirrored by the students, who are now seeing a world of new career possibilities. Rowendel Tablayan, a senior at Bintawan National High School, shared his excitement about the hands-on experience.

“This event is a great opportunity for us to enhance our knowledge, spark our curiosity, and become more interested in the field of robotics,” Tablayan noted, representing a new generation of Filipinos ready to lead in the tech space.

Edward Christian Gan, Project Lead of DICT—SPARK (Strengthening the Philippine Workforce through Adaptive and Responsive Digital Knowledge), said, "Students actively collaborated with teachers in learning several aspects of robotics through the provision of essential robotics hardware. Together, they identified the most efficient hardware components that were required for certain tasks, alongside the corresponding codes. A platform like this National Robotics Challenge uplifts the confidence of students and helps them to appreciate careers in coding and fields related to IT that demand creativity and problem-solving skills."

Unwavering Commitment to Digital Inclusion

In recognition of its significant contributions to digital capacity-building, the strategic collaboration between DigiPlus Foundation and the DICT was honored at the National Tech4ED Digital Transformation Awards 2025. By unifying government reach, academic rigor, and private sector resources, the program has established a replicable blueprint for inclusive growth across the digital landscape

"Our partnership with DICT is a testament to what we can achieve when the public and private sectors align. Together, we are ensuring that no Filipino student, regardless of their location, is left behind in the global digital economy," the DigiPlus Foundation Executive Director emphasized.

This milestone makes it clear that DigiPlus Foundation will continue to serve as a cornerstone of the country’s digital evolution. The Foundation is committed to deepening its investment in the Filipino youth by expanding the reach of the FutureSmart initiative to more far-flung provinces.

By fostering a culture where coding is a fundamental literacy and robotics is an accessible dream, DigiPlus Foundation is not just supporting a workshop, it is cultivating the next generation of Filipino engineers, innovators, and digital leaders who will carry the nation into the future. Through sustained mentorship and the continued provision of cutting-edge resources, the Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to multiply the good across the country.
