The two-day medical mission benefited more than 1,000 residents of Barangay Ugac Sur, providing access to comprehensive healthcare services that included medical consultations, laboratory examinations, medicines, and mental wellness assessments and counseling.

DigiPlus Foundation launches Charity tab on BingoPlus app

DigiPlus Foundation has introduced a new Charity tab on the BingoPlus app as it expands its social development initiatives nationwide.

Formerly known as the BingoPlus Foundation, the organization said the new feature allows users to monitor its community programs and charitable projects directly through the app.

According to the foundation, the Charity tab contains project cards highlighting initiatives focused on food security, healthcare access, and classroom-building investments.

Users may also view real-time project progress, top contributors, impact statistics, and partner organizations through the platform.

The foundation said the feature aims to make community engagement more transparent and accessible while connecting digital participation with on-ground social impact.

“More than building a space of trust and transparency, the Foundation also aims to make the Charity tab a living library of stories by everyday heroes,” the organization said.

Building on previous collaborations focused primarily on blood donation initiatives, this partnership marks the first major infrastructure-focused project between the two organizations.

Under the DigiPlus Foundation’s KalusuganPLUS program, this partnership aims to enhance emergency response capabilities, strengthen blood service operations, and improve community resilience across Cavite and nearby areas. The 6-million pesos donation will be used to upgrade the facility of the Philippine Red Cross to expand its operational capacity, enhancing its ability to deliver timely assistance, mobilize resources more effectively, and provide life-saving services at scale. The improved facilities are expected to support key functions such as emergency response coordination, blood services, volunteer training, and community-based programs.

DigiPlus Foundation champions a new wave of community mental health awareness in Parañaque City

After successful runs in Cebu City and General Santos City, our mental health initiative has officially reached the metro.

Dubbed “Amuma: Community Conversations on Mental Health,” the program places mental health at the forefront of community care and local governance. In partnership with Parañaque City, the initiative was successfully launched last March 27 at the city’s municipal hall, marking its first large-scale effort to expand access, awareness, and capacity for mental health support at the grassroots level.

More than 100 participants, including teachers, students, government officials, and parents, took part in the event. The session provided practical mental health education, helped break stigma, and fostered safe spaces that encourage communities to play an active role in supporting mental well-being.

Marc Jerard Juane, a medical doctor participant from the training, shared how the training strengthened their confidence in responding to patients beyond clinical care, emphasizing the importance of listening and early support at the community level. “This gives us practical tools to better understand and assist individuals who may be silently struggling,” the participant noted.

The event allowed the BingoPlus Foundation to uphold its commitment to sports development by handing over donations to key partners in sports development.

In the week-long ISP event held last month, the BingoPlus Foundation turned over a total of ₱17.2 million in donations to key partner-beneficiaries, namely: the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP), the Asian Development Tour (ADT), and the Sisidlan Rizal Weavers.

The ₱8 million donation to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) reinforces the Foundation’s long-term commitment to strengthening the country’s athletic programs and empowering Filipino athletes to excel globally.

“This P8-million amount is a victory far greater than any we could claim tonight. The true winners here are our Filipino athletes and our youth,” PSC Commissioner Fritz Gaston remarked. “Our primary focus is to assist our athletes, particularly the aspiring young individuals. This generous donation [from BingoPlus and BingoPlus Foundation] will be utilized to support our youth, starting from the grassroots. We will provide them with the necessary funds for their training and practice in their chosen sports,” he added, emphasizing that the investment is dedicated to shaping the next generation of national athletes.

To grow the game locally, the Foundation also committed USD 50,000 to the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) and USD 100,000 to the Asian Development Tour (ADT). This ADT partnership, introducing its series to the Philippines for the first time, guarantees a Filipino golfer a coveted slot in the prestigious International Series. This move bridges critical opportunities for emerging talents and firmly places the nation’s golf facilities on the global map.

DigiPlus Foundation strengthens mental healthcare support in General Santos City.

More than 500 students, educators, youth leaders, and LGU representatives gathered in General Santos City for “Amuma,” DigiPlus Foundation’s community-based mental health caravan aimed at strengthening grassroots mental healthcare support.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — After the successful mental health caravan in Cebu City, the biggest convergence of students, educators, and local government leaders advocating mental health support in General Santos City occurred through the initiative of DigiPlus Foundation, formerly known as BingoPlus Foundation, under its KalusaganPLUS Accessible Healthcare program. The caravan marked a significant step in strengthening community-led responses to mental health concerns, particularly at the grassroots level, where support is often limited.

Dubbed “Amuma,” a Visayan word meaning “to care or nurture,” the caravan brought together more than 500 participants, including teachers, students, LGU representatives, youth leaders, and community workers. The caravan was designed to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and equip communities with practical tools for empathy and early support, empowering participants to respond appropriately when someone in their family, school, or workplace is experiencing psychological distress.

Dr. Abelardo Banuag, Founder of Paglaum Mental Health Group, a licensed psychiatrist, and the keynote speaker of Amuma, emphasized the importance of early awareness and community action in mental health care, encouraging participants to build cultures of compassion and confidence in responding to psychological distress.

“Mental health care should not begin only when there is a crisis. It must start with awareness, conversation, compassion, and the confidence to act,” said Paul Tamayo, Program Manager for Health and Resilience Pillar of the DigiPlus Foundation. “Through Amuma, we are strengthening communities by giving them the language, understanding, and practical skills to support one another. This is how we make care accessible, especially at the grassroots.”

Speakers from different generations share perspectives on mental health during a multi-generational dialogue session, highlighting how awareness and support systems evolve from Boomers to Gen Z.

One of the key highlights of the Amuma was its multi-generational dialogue, where community speakers discussed how mental healthcare is experienced, understood and addressed across generations from Boomers to Gen Z. By surfacing shared experiences and generational differences, the sessions helped participants better understand the evolving challenges of mental well-being and the kind of support each
generation’s needs.

The role of teachers, students, and LGUs as frontline advocates of mental health were also emphasized, recognizing their influence in shaping safe, supportive environments in schools and communities.

Supported by the office of Vice Mayor Edmar Yumang of General Santos City, he welcomed the initiative and underscored its importance to the city. “Programs like Amuma help strengthen our community’s ability to care for one another,” Hon. Yumang said. “By opening conversations on mental health and equipping our people with the right knowledge, we are building a city that is more compassionate, responsive, and resilient.”

Winners of the slogan-making contest were recognized on stage, recognizing youth voices that creatively champion awareness, empathy, and stigma-free conversations on mental health within their communities.

As part of its continuing commitment to accessible mental health support in the country, DigiPlus Foundation encouraged participants to utilize EmbracePLUS, the Foundation’s mental health support platform that offers safe spaces for listening, guidance, and connection to professional help. The initiative reinforces the message that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

The Foundation reminded communities that empathy can save lives and that no one has to face their struggles alone. Through Amuma and EmbracePLUS, the Foundation continues to champion a future where Filipinos feel supported, understood, and empowered to seek help when they need it most.

BingoPlus Foundation embraces love and bridges hope by advancing Mental Healthcare for every Filipino

For Filipinos struggling with anxiety, depression, and moments of acute crisis, accessible mental health support remains a daunting challenge. The expensive cost, limited availability of professionals, and mostly the unwanted social stigma often prevent those in need from seeking help.

Based on a journal in Acta Medica Philippina published in 2024, more than 12 million Filipinos are suffering from depression and anxiety due to poverty, disasters, and other socio-economic disparities. With the reported millions of individuals struggling with mental health, unfortunately, there are only two to three mental health workers available for every 100,000 Filipinos, according to the National Institute of Health.

Aiming to address this concern while at the same time creating a compassionate community, the BingoPlus Foundation, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive Corp., has made a landmark move to bridge the gap in mental healthcare by forging ties with two of the country’s significant non-government organizations—Love Yourself and Bridges of Hope.

EmbracePLUS: A helpline to self-love

BingoPlus Foundation partnered with LoveYourself to establish a free help channel that would serve as the first line of support to fellowmen who are battling mental health issues—the EmbracePLUS.

Set to be fully operational beginning October 1, EmbracePLUS is a free helpline that acts as a critical first-response system for individuals facing mental health challenges. It aims to dismantle barriers to care, offering a critical first response system that is accessible to everyone, regardless of location or economic status.

Consisting of telehealth associates trained to provide essential Psychological First Aid (PFA) and counseling support, EmbracePLUS offers two key touchpoints: assessments currently available through its dedicated hotlines (Smart: 09082352351, Globe: 09563921924) from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily, and first aid assistance through calls during the same hours. A 24/7 assessment feature via the EmbracePlusPH Facebook page is also in development and will be available soon.

BingoPlus Foundation and LoveYourself revealed that the new mental health helpline is a combination of two of their projects: Embrace Virtual Hub and KalusuganPLUS.

Embrace is LoveYourself’s established online health platform that specializes in immediate, confidential support, while KalusuganPLUS, which recently rolled out community-based mental health training for first responders at the barangay level in Cebu and General Santos, is one of the core health programs of BingoPlus Foundation.

Dr. Vin Pagtakhan, Founder and Executive Director of LoveYourself, emphasized the sustainability factor. “Beyond amplifying awareness, BingoPlus Foundation’s support helps strengthen our capacity for responder training and operations, ensuring our programs are not only immediate but also sustainable,” he said. “This collaboration highlights the value of working together across sectors to create stronger and more responsive services.”

The partnership is anchored by a renewed ₱500,000 commitment from BingoPlus Foundation. This vital funding supports the ongoing specialized training for telehealth associates and operations of the EmbracePlus hub.

Bridging hope in a new home

With a powerful commitment to building a more compassionate and stigma-free society, BingoPlus Foundation continues to find ways to provide stronger mental healthcare assistance.

While EmbracePLUS serves as the first line of help, a major step for individuals with mental health issues, BingoPlus Foundation believes there should also be a ready and reliable community for those people who will seek long-term support.

Enter Bridges of Hope, the country’s largest network of rehabilitation and recovery private centers. With over fifteen facilities located from Luzon to Visayas, Bridges of Hope provides treatment to addiction and mental health problems.

Ms. Issa Litton, an experienced trainer in public speaking, host, and actress, assisted the scholars in cultivating confidence by utilizing their voices as instruments to create impact and excel as communicators in their respective fields.

Camins-Wieneke disclosed that in the spirit of multiplying the good, BingoPlus Foundation is amplifying the capacity of Bridges of Hope centers to serve more through the organization’s donation of laptops, printers, televisions, projectors, fans, music instruments, and supplies saying “these are more than just tools; these are instruments of healing, learning, and hope.”

By working hand in hand with BingoPlus, we can ensure that those who need support have access to the right resources and that our gaming environment is all safe and enjoyable,” disclosed Jon Ty, Chairman and CEO of Bridges of Hope.
